Yeah, that's a stereotype and I hate to say I agree. Names like Jake, Kyle, Alex, Mark sound way sexier than Thomas, Patrick, Carl and David. I dunno why though...I hope you get an answer =)

i agree, my sister was named after my grandmother, her name is nora. she hates it and refuses to respond to it, she goes by different nicknames, unless it's at a doctors office or for a legal matter and she has to go by her real name. she always says she's going to have it legally changed, but hasn't done it. and she is really pretty, always has been. she got mad at me once because she had a guy over that she was dating and he didn't know her real name, and i asked him what he thought of the name nora, and he said he wouldn't name his dog something that bad, and i said oh, well thats my sisters real name. needless to say she wouldn't speak to me for a while...but hey, i was a kid...kids do mean things like that, i wouldn't do that to someone now.
