Eleanor
Dorris
Adelaide
Emmaline (pronounced exactly how it looks)
Alva
Thanks! What do you think of these very old fashioned girl names?
I think Eleonor and Emmaline are ok.
Dorris, Adelaide and Alva I'm not so keen on.
Eleanor -- 10/10. I consider this a timeless name, rather than old fashioned. I think it works excellently at any age, and you have the choice between the more old fashioned nickname Nora and the more modern, popular Ella or Ellie.
Dorris -- 2/10. I think it seems very dated. It's not the kind of name I can imagine on a child today. Aside from that, I just don't think the name itself is very pretty or feminine.
Adelaide -- 8/10. Lovely, a classic but unusual name. I do prefer Adeline though; I think it sounds softer. I quite like Addy as a nickname, it's just that I usually hear it for Addison, which puts me off. But for Adelaide, it would be cute!
Emmaline -- 10/10. I love this name, it's one of my faves! It's traditional, regal and elegant. It also has lots of great nickname options, like Emma, Emmy or Emily. I prefer the classic spelling Emmeline though... and I like the pronunciation Em-uh-leen.
Alva -- 4/10. I've never really thought about this name before. I don't love it, but it's a refreshing choice, and I think it would work fine on a child today.
My faves are Eleanor and Emmaline/Emmeline. :)What do you think of these very old fashioned girl names?
Eleanor - much prefer 'Eleanora'..gives it a regal feel, Eleanor's abit stale.
Dorris - frumpy
Adelaide - its ok..prefer the elegant sounding Adeline much more.
Emmaline - too long reminds me of cows
Alva - boringWhat do you think of these very old fashioned girl names?
I really love Eleanor and Emmaline, though I prefer the spelling Emmeline. It's the more traditional spelling. Adelaide is okay, but I hate the nickname Addy/Addie.
Eleanor is beautiful
Emmaline is beutifuler
Emmaline has to be my favorite
don't like Dorris
Alva sounds kinda like a tree
Adelaide i can't pronounce.... but i assume would be very nice.
I don't like Eleanor or Dorris. But I do kinda like Adelaide and Emmaline - have you considered Emmalyn? Alva is weird, I like Ava better.
Eleanor, I really like.
I'm not fond of Dorris, Alva or Emmaline, but like Emma.
Adelaide, well it makes me think of a much older person.
the first one is ok but the other ones don't appeal to me, especially emmaline (sounds like edamine, a vegetable) and alva (sounds like an organ or something)
just my thoughts
Adelaide reminds me of Kool aide...
I don't really like Alva either.
Emmaline is pretty, and I like Eleanor, and Dorris too.

Eleanor and Dorris are gross.
Adelaide and Emmaline are...okay.
Alva is just a no.
Sorry.
I love traditional names! Eleanor is so pretty. Adelaide is sweet and Emmaline flows beautifully!
I think they are adorable, but I think they work better as middle names now days.
